How a ductless system actually works
A mini split has four working parts: an outdoor condenser housing the compressor, individual indoor air handlers mounted on a wall or ceiling in each room or zone, narrow insulated refrigerant lines connecting the two, and independent smart controls for every indoor unit. Because there is no ductwork carrying the air, there is no duct energy loss along the way, no dusty vents to clean, and no uneven temperatures between the room with a handler and the one without. Each zone is set and adjusted on its own, so a bedroom can run cooler than a home office without the rest of the house changing at all.
Our four-step installation process
We start with a consultation and system design, evaluating the home's layout, insulation and comfort goals before recommending a configuration, anywhere from a single room to a full multi-zone setup. Next comes professional installation: our own licensed technicians mount each indoor air handler and connect the outdoor unit through a small wall opening, and most installs are complete in a single day. Third is system testing and calibration, checking airflow, refrigerant charge and efficiency, followed by a full walkthrough of the new controls. Fourth is ongoing maintenance support, so the system keeps performing the way it did on day one.
